Maruti’s Japanese subsidiary Suzuki had showcased it at the hybrid edition of Swift held in Tokyo from 26 to 31 October. It is being said that the automaker may launch this car in the market during September 2024. It is being said that this car will leave behind the models of its rival companies in terms of mileage. These hybrid cars defeated electric cars in India
Hybrid cars have overtaken battery-powered electric cars in terms of sales for three consecutive months in the current financial year 2023-24. New car buyers in India are relying more on the handful of hybrid cars on sale in the car market like the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Highrider, Honda City and Toyota Innova Hycross. The growing demand for fuel-efficient hybrid cars underlines consumers’ growing environmental awareness and concern over the challenges of limited range and charging infrastructure posed by electric cars.
Demand for hybrid cars increased
Total sales of hybrid cars in the three months till November stood at 24,062 units, while 21,445 electric cars were sold in the same three months. The biggest thing is that at present about 16 electric cars are being sold in the market and many cars are on the verge of being launched, whereas in comparison to such a large number of electric cars, only four hybrid cars are present in the market.
Dimensions of Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid
Talking about the dimensions of Maruti Suzuki Swift hybrid car, its length is 3860 mm. It is about 15 mm longer than the old Swift. At the same time, the width of the new one is 1695 mm and height is 1500 mm. The width of its old model is 1735 mm and height is 1530 mm. The length of the new model is 40 mm and height is 30 mm less. The wheelbase of the new and old models is 2450 mm.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid Engine
Maruti’s Japanese subsidiary Suzuki has clarified that the new 1.2 liter three-cylinder NA Z12E petrol engine will replace the K12C unit in the Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid. It will be included with a mild hybrid system for better fuel efficiency. The mild hybrid technology will be available in the MZ and MX trims, while the XG grade is a non-hybrid. Like other cars, it will also get only CVT transmission. All three variants will be launched in the market with four-wheel-drive system as standard. The JDM-spec Maruti Suzuki Swift hybrid will be launched with Car Connect telematics and an EPB (Electric Parking Brake).
Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid Mileage
If we talk about the mileage of Maruti Suzuki Swift hybrid car, then the mileage of its non-hybrid CVT is 23.4 km per liter, while the mileage of the old Swift MT is 22.38 km per liter. Overall, its mileage is 1.02 kilometers more. Whereas, the mileage of Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid CVT is 24.5 kilometers per liter. At the same time, the mileage of AMT of the old Swift is 22.56 km per liter. Overall, the mileage of the new model of Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid is about 1.94 kilometers per liter more than the old model.
Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid Colors
Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid will come in a total of 13 color options, which will include 9 single-tone and 4 dual-tone colors. Additionally, there are mono-tone shades Frontier Blue Pearl Metallic, Cool Yellow Metallic, Burning Red Pearl Metallic, Super Black Pearl, Star Silver Metallic, Flame Orange Pearl Metallic, Caravan Ivory Pearl Metallic, Pure White Pearl and Premium Silver Metallic. The dual-tone color scheme includes blue with black roof, red with black roof, yellow with black roof and white with black roof.
Design of Maruti Suzuki Swift Hybrid
Maruti Suzuki Swift hybrid car has been given the same developing design as its third generation. Its front fascia now gets a chrome grille with a new design for the grille, whereas the old car had wide slats. It has more mesh design. Swift maintains its look in profile. A new design can be seen for its door, second line handle and wheels. Major changes were expected in the cabin, but Suzuki has adopted the upgrade path by retaining many existing components. The instrument cluster, steering wheel, buttons and touch surfaces as well as the center console have all been retained, but there is a new dashboard, AC console and a 10-inch display for the infotainment system. In the market it will compete with Hyundai Grand i10 Nios, Renault Triber, Citroen YR3, Tata Punch and Hyundai Exeter.
