Meta introduces text-based world chat feature for Horizon Worlds

San Francisco | Meta has introduced a new text-based ‘world chat’ feature for social virtual reality (VR) platform ‘Horizon Worlds’, a way to communicate with other people in the same world session. The World Chat feature is rolling out slowly to some people right now, and we will continue to bring the experience to more of the Worlds community in the coming weeks, the company said in a blogpost on Tuesday.
Apart from voice chat, users will now be able to communicate using text.
Users will be able to connect with other people participating in the chat or view their profile by clicking on their name and inviting them to connect.
In addition, users will also be able to mention other people in the world chat who are in the same world.
The feature also provides simple tools that make it easy to connect with others and engage in conversation.
The company further said that users can choose whether or not people they don’t know can read their messages by turning on the ‘Blurred Chats’ setting.
It says, in this you can report, block or mute a person and his messages.
