New Delhi : MG Motor India has launched the new Comet EV gamer model in the country. It is also bringing a heavy model of electric car in the market. The new MG Comet EV gamer model has been designed in collaboration with top gamers Naman Mathur, popularly known as Mortal in India. The MG Comet Gamer is an affordable electric car with an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.65 lakh. However, it is about Rs 64,999 more expensive than the Pace, Play and Plush variants of the Comet EV. To buy it, customers will have to visit the company’s official website or dealership. Presently, the dealership of the company is present across the country.
Top gamer Naman Mathur has prepared the design
According to a media report, the concept and design of MG Motor India’s new Comet EV gamer model has been prepared by India’s top gamer Naman Mathur. The Comet EV Special Gamer Edition gets neon elements on the wheels and doors as well as eliminated stickers on the B-pillars. At the same time, neon elements are seen in its cabin, which has been made from neon lights and glowing materials. Apart from this, some special textured materials have been used to make its keys and some other things in the cabin.
Comet Gamer model premium Rs 65,000
Built around the gaming setup, the new MG Comet gamer model commands a premium of Rs 65,000 and can be had in any of the existing three trims Pace, Play and Push. The wheels and doors get gamer-themed side mouldings, wheel covers and fog lamp garnish. The stickers on the B-pillar are inspired by the gaming console. It also gets a dual-tone paint option in black and neon purple while the bonnet gets ‘Gamer’ lettering.

The cabin of the MG Comet Gamer model also gets a funky visual update in the form of neon lights similar to the exterior. Upgrades included gamer-themed seat covers, purple inserts on the steering wheel, dashboard and door trims, as well as gamer-themed carpets. There have been no mechanical changes to the car with the Comet EV Gamer model using a 17.3 kWh battery pack, which promises a range of 230 km (claimed) on a single charge. The single electric motor develops 41 bhp and 76 Nm of peak torque.

MG Comet EV price starts at Rs. 7.98 Lakhs and goes upto Rs. 9.98 Lakhs, ex-showroom. The tallboy design and compact proportions already make it a niche offering. It rivals the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroën E-C3 in the electric hatchback segment.

2009 marks the rise of MG Motor UK
The cars were once again assembled at Longbridge, with the MG TF LE500 produced between August 2007 and September 2016. In 2007, Nanjing Automobile was acquired by SAIC Motor and in early 2009, NAC MG UK Ltd was renamed MG Motor UK Ltd.
