Lucknow: Before the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has suffered another setback. BSP MP Sangeeta Azad and her husband Azad Arimardan joined the BJP in Delhi on Monday. Sangeeta Azad is BSP MP from Lalganj. There was talk of his joining BJP for a long time. On this occasion, Sangeeta Azad said that she has taken membership of BJP after being influenced by the policies of PM Narendra Modi. With his joining BJP, BJP will become stronger in Purvanchal.

Two MPs have already left
BSP had won 10 seats in the Lok Sabha elections 2019 in alliance with the Samajwadi alliance. Before the elections in 2024, the winning MPs are leaving one after the other. A few days ago, Ambedkar Nagar MP Ritesh Pandey left BSP and joined BJP. Afzal Ansari has joined Samajwadi Party from Ghazipur. Along with Jaunpur, Shyam Singh Yadav also seems to be moving away from BSP. It is being said that he is having a meeting with Congress. Apart from this, many other MPs are also waiting for their tickets. Even if he does not get the ticket, he will also look for his place in another party.

BSP had won these seats in 2024
Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had won 10 seats in the 2019 elections in alliance with SP. These seats are Bijnor, Saharanpur, Nagina, Shravasti, Lalganj, Ghosi, Ghazipur, Amroha, Ambedkar Nagar. Earlier in 2014, even the account of BSP was not opened. BSP is contesting the elections alone in 2024.

13 candidates declared so far
BSP has so far declared 13 candidates for the 2024 elections in UP. Of these, five are Muslims and four are Brahmins. BSP has fielded Praveen Bainsla from Baghpat, Devbrat Tyagi from Meerut, Rajesh Dwivedi from Akbarpur, Kuldeep Bhadauria from Kanpur, Pooja Amrohi from Agra, Sachchidanand Pandey from Faizabad, Dr. Mujahid Hussain from Amroha, Irfan Saifi from Moradabad and Anish Ahmed Khan from Pilibhit. Majid Ali has been given ticket from Saharanpur.
