Now 10 minutes long reel can be made on Instagram too

San Francisco. Instagram is soon going to bring a good news for its users. Meta-owned Instagram is working on a technology to create longer reels of up to 10 minutes for users.

Mobile developer and leaker Alessandro Palluzzi shared screenshots of two side-by-side Reels pages on X (formerly Twitter) on Wednesday, The Verge reported. In this, a 3-minute long and a 10-minute video were shared.

“Instagram is working on the ability to create longer reels of up to 10 minutes,” he added.

However, the report states that Meta has not yet confirmed plans to expand Reels.

Trimming Reels to 10 minutes brings it closer to YouTube videos, but not as much as video rival TikTok, which already offers more time to record videos.

TikTok offers videos up to 10 minutes long for free users, as well as up to 20 minutes for additional paid fans to watch more content from favorite creators.

Meanwhile, Instagram is testing a new group feature that will allow users to tag more than one person in a story.

Instagram head Adam Mosseri said, “We are working on the ability to tag more than one person on the same story.”

This feature will be helpful, as tagging multiple people at once will make the stories neat and organized, making for a better viewing experience.
