Mahindra Thar Prices: There is a news that will shock the lovers of off-roading cars and that is that domestic vehicle manufacturer Mahindra & Mahindra has increased the prices of off-road SUV car Thar. However, like other companies in the country, the company had announced to increase the prices of cars in December 2023 itself. Now Mahindra car buyers will not only get the off-road SUV Thar, but will also get Scorpio, Scorpio-N and Bolero in its lineup at increased prices. Mahindra has decided to increase the prices of Thar by about Rs 35,000.

Mahindra Thar new price

Mahindra & Mahindra has increased the price of Thar’s top variant AX (O) hard-top diesel MT 4WD by about Rs 34,699, while its base variant entry-level LX hard-top petrol AT RWD has been increased by Rs 22,899. With this, the price of its base variant LX Hard-Top Petrol AT RWD variant has increased to Rs 14 lakh, while the price of its top variant LX Hard-Top Diesel AT 4WD has reached Rs 7.20 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom India. Mahindra Thar comes with six color options. This includes Everest White (new), Blazing Bronze (new), Aquamarine, Red Rage, Napoli Black and Galaxy Grey.

Mahindra Thar Engine and Transmission

Mahindra Thar comes with three engine options. It has the first 2-litre turbo petrol engine, which is capable of generating 150PS of power and 320Nm of peak torque. Its second engine is 2.2-litre diesel, which generates power of 130PS and peak torque of 300Nm. Apart from these two engines, the third engine is 1.5-litre diesel, which generates power of 118PS and peak torque of 300Nm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard with all three engines, while the option of a 6-speed automatic gearbox is also available with the 2-litre turbo petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines. Thar car is available in both four-wheel-drive and rear-wheel-drive options.

Features of Mahindra Thar

The feature list of Mahindra Thar includes halogen headlamps with LED DRL, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity), auto AC, cruise control, steering mounted controls and digital MID in the instrument cluster. Apart from this, it also has washable interior and removable roof panel.

Safety Features of Mahindra Thar

For the safety of passengers, features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor and front seatbelt reminder are available as standard in Mahindra Thar off-road SUV. It competes with Force Gurkha and Maruti Jimny in the market. On the price front, it also competes with Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Aster, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Toyota Hyrider and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara compact SUV.
