New Delhi : Olo’s electric scooters are going on a rampage in India. Ola Electric launched three electric scooters S1X, S1 Air and S1 Pro just two weeks ago. It is reported that two weeks after the launch, the startup has received bookings of around 75,000 units for these three scooters. Two-wheeler maker startup Ola Electric has announced that its new and updated S1 range of electric scooters has received over 75,000 sales within just two weeks of its launch. The electric two-wheeler maker introduced two new products on 15 August. These include the Gen 2 S1 Pro and the S1 X. These will be available with the Ola S1 Air electric scooter. All three models are priced between Rs 90,000 and Rs 1.47 lakh (ex-showroom). This price has been fixed by the startup keeping in view the budget of the customers. However, electric vehicle startup Ola has not presented model-wise details of booking of scooters with these three models, which model has received how many bookings in the three models.

Ola’s electric scooter range now starts with the S1X, priced at Rs 90,000 ex-showroom. Mainly it is available in three variants in the market. The standard model Ola S1X comes with 2 kWh and 3 kWh battery packs. Meanwhile, the S1 S1 Air costs Rs 1.20 lakh, while the Gen2 S1 Pro costs Rs 1.47 lakh, which we recently rode. All prices are ex-showroom India.

Electric scooter claims to save Rs 13,000 in a year

Ola Electric also boasts of significantly lower cost with its electric scooter range as compared to comparable internal combustion engine (ICE) scooters. The startup says that customers of the S1 Air and Ola S1 Pro save up to Rs 1,100 a month and up to Rs 13,000 a year. The startup calculates an average daily commute of 30 km to find out the total cost of ownership.

S1X Plus bookings open, delivery in September

Ola Electric is currently accepting bookings for the S1X Plus, with deliveries starting in September. The startup is accepting bookings for the S1X (2 kWh and 3 kWh) variants for Rs 999 and deliveries are scheduled to begin from December. Ola is also working on a new lineup of electric motorcycles, which will likely come under the M1 brand name and is slated to launch sometime in 2024.

Ola S1 Air electric scooter is full of features

Electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric has recently launched the S1 Scooter Air. Ola S1 is priced at Rs 1.20 lakh ex-showroom. However, Ola Electric has discontinued the S1. Therefore, now the company will sell only S1 Air and S1 Pro. The battery size of the Ola S1 Air electric scooter is 3 kWh and it will take 5 hours to fully charge using the portable charger that comes with the scooter. Ola is claiming a riding range of 125 km on a single charge.

Ola S1 Air performance

Ola Electric is using a 4.5 kW electric motor, which is hub mounted. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 kmph in 3.3 seconds, while it can reach 60 kmph in 5.7 seconds. The top speed of the scooter is 90 kmph and it comes with three riding modes. These are Eco, Normal and Sports. Suspension duties on the Ola S1 Air are handled by telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. The braking setup includes drum brakes at the front and rear. Also, the company has changed the floorboard to a flat design and the rear grab rail is comfortable. The S1 comes with steel wheels instead of the air alloy wheels.
