Oracle and Microsoft expand relationship to help customers move to the cloud

San Francisco. Cloud major Oracle and tech giant Microsoft expanded their partnership on Friday.

With Oracle Database Attard Azure, companies will help customers accelerate their migration to the cloud, so they can modernize their IT environments and take advantage of Azure infrastructure, tooling, and services.

Oracle will operate and manage these OCI services directly within Microsoft’s data centers globally, starting with the North America and Europe regions.

Satya Nadella, President and CEO of Microsoft, said, “Our expanded partnership with Oracle will make Microsoft Azure the only other cloud provider to run Oracle’s database services and help our customers unlock a new wave of cloud-powered innovation. Will do.”

This combination will provide customers with greater flexibility in running their workloads.

“Microsoft and Oracle are working together to make it easier for customers to seamlessly integrate Azure services with the latest Oracle database technology,” said Larry Ellison, Oracle president and CTO.

He said that by installing Oracle Exadata hardware in Azure data centers, customers will experience the best possible database and network performance.
The new service is designed to eliminate customers’ biggest challenges in adopting multicloud architectures, including disjointed management, siled tools and a complex procurement process.

“The announcement demonstrates how industry leaders Microsoft and Oracle are putting their customers’ interests first and providing a collaborative solution that helps organizations like Fidelity deliver the best results for our clients,” said Mihir Shah, head of enterprise at Fidelity Investments Data. “Enables us to deliver best-in-class experiences and meet substantial compliance and regulatory requirements with minimal downtime.”

Scott Petty, Vodafone’s chief technology officer, said the new offering will enable them to “provide innovative and differentiated digital services to our customers faster and more cost-effectively.”
