Paid users of Twitter will be able to upload two hours long video

New Delhi. Elon Musk-run Twitter is gearing up to take on YouTube. It has now allowed paid users to upload videos of up to two hours on the platform. The microblogging platform also changed its Twitter blue page and announced that the video file size limit for paid users has been increased from 2GB to 8GB.
Twitter Blue Verified subscribers can now upload up to 2 hours of video (8GB), Musk tweeted on Thursday.
Earlier, longer video uploads were only possible through the web, but now users can upload through the iOS app as well.
Despite these changes, the maximum upload quality is 1080p.
Twitter introduced the long video upload feature in December last year, and it recently added new playback speed controls on the web.
Several users on Twitter expressed their views on the development.
One user commented, Sweet, when can we monetize them?
Another user wrote, ‘Long videos are good and I hope you focus on them as an alternative to YouTube. Short videos are bad. I hope you don’t copy Tik Tok, shorts and reels.
Another user said, ‘Films are coming.’
Meanwhile, Musk has confirmed that Linda Yacarino, NBCUniversal’s president of global advertising, will take over as Twitter’s new CEO.
His role will transition to Executive President and CTO, overseeing product, software and systems operations.
