New Delhi : There are not many fully-faired motorcycles in the Indian bike market. Because of this, when someone is in traffic, they attract some attention. However, if that motorcycle is the Suzuki Gixxer SF 250, then it is bound to grab attention. The reason for this is the presence of the motorcycle on the road. Good looks are not the only strong point of the Gixxer SF 250. Since the motorcycle was recently updated, Suzuki decided to add more equipment and make the motorcycle BS6 Stage 2 compliant.

The Gixxer SF 250 looks amazing in the Race Edition color scheme. People often mistake it for a pure sports bike. The front fairing with huge ‘SUZUKI’ lettering and blue, gray and black color schemes is inspired by the livery of Suzuki’s MotoGP motorcycles. Suzuki is also offering two other color schemes which are much lesser.
ergonomics
Despite having clip-on and rear-set footpegs, the riding triangle is not very compact. So, if a person is used to driving a fully faired motorcycle then he will not face any problem. However, if it is his first time then it may take some time.
engine and gearbox
The performance of the oil-cooled 249 cc unit is quite likable. It’s rev happy and it’s mid-range where the engine starts. However, where the engine lacks is low-end grunt, due to which it prefers to stick to first and second gears only. Also, the on-off throttle transitions are not the smoothest. At the top end, there is some mild vibration on the fuel tank and handlebar. The 6-speed gearbox is easy to use for the most part, but finding neutral can be a bit tricky at times. The engine remains relatively vibe-free at 100 kmph.
ride and handling
Handling is the main attraction of the Gixxer SF 250. It corners well and maintains its line. The front suspension is well damped while the rear suspension can feel a bit stiff on very bad stretches of road. However, this is what ensures that the motorcycle remains stable in the corners.
brake
What is lacking on the Gixxer SF 250 is the brakes. Suzuki is using disc brakes at both the ends. The front brake lacks an early brake while the rear ABS kicks in very quickly.

One of the biggest updates to the Gixxer SF 250 for 2023 is the inclusion of Suzuki Ride Connect Bluetooth-connected technology. The company says that we have connected the motorcycle to the Android phone. The process was quite simple and once connected the digital instrument cluster can show notification and call alerts and turn-by-turn navigation, which works surprisingly well.
