Just before the Lok Sabha elections, RJD supremo Lalu Yadav’s troubles seem to be increasing. The MP-MLA Court in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh has issued a permanent warrant of arrest against him in a years-old case. This case is related to the Arms Act, in which Lalu Yadav was declared absconding.

According to the information, this case is of the year 1995-1997. Police investigation revealed that weapons and cartridges were purchased from a total of three firms through fake documents. Names of 23 accused including Lalu Yadav are included in this case. Of these, the case is pending against six, two have died, while 14 are absconding. The police had filed a charge sheet in this case in July 1998. The case against Lalu Yadav was transferred to the MP-MLA court after the court was convinced that Lalu Yadav mentioned in the document was the former Chief Minister of Bihar.

In this case, ADPO of Gwalior District Court Abhishek Malhotra said that MP-MLA Gwalior District Magistrate has issued a permanent arrest warrant against former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav in a case of the year 1995-97, in which through illegal fake documents. Weapons were purchased and further supplies were made. 23 people from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar are accused in this case. In which the name of former Bihar CM and former Union Minister Lalu Yadav is also included.

Case registered against Lalu Yadav under Arms Act, subject of investigation: JDU

At the same time, in this matter, JDU’s chief spokesperson cum Legislative Councilor Neeraj Kumar has said that the registration of a case under the Arms Act against Lalu Prasad in Madhya Pradesh is a matter of serious investigation. Till now, case was registered against him only in Bihar, Jharkhand and Delhi but now it has been registered in Madhya Pradesh also.

While asking the question, Neeraj Kumar said that information should be given about which states have cases registered against Lalu Prasad. Raising questions on the politics of RJD, he said that how can a person who is already convicted and against whom more cases are registered, talk about the welfare of Dalits, backward classes and extremely backward people.
