This comes after Union Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced that a major ring road project in Delhi under Urban Extension Road 2 will be opened to the common man in the next 2-3 months.
New ring road will open in the next two-three months
Gadkari said that the travel time from the new ring road to Delhi airport will reduce from 2 hours to 20 minutes. According to the report of news agency ANI, the Highways Minister made this announcement during his visit to Prague. He said that Urban Extension Road 2 will open in the next 2-3 months. He said that normally if you come to Delhi and then go to the airport, it will take you at least 2 hours to complete this journey, but after the opening of this road, you can reach the airport in 20 minutes.
The name of the new ring road is Urban Ring Road 2.
Addressing the Indian expatriates at the 27th World Road Congress held in Prague, Nitin Gadkari said that while coming from Panipat to Delhi, an Outer Ring Road is available. After that a new ring road named Urban Ring Road 2 has been built in Delhi. It will open in the next two to three months. After the construction of this road, you will be able to reach T3 airport directly in just 20 minutes instead of two hours. We have also built a big tunnel under the road at Shiv Murti Junction, which connects T3 under the airport.
Revolutionizing travel time
Gadkari said that once the road is inaugurated within the next 2-3 months, there will be a potentially revolutionary change in travel time in the city. The development of Urban Extension Road 2 is expected to significantly reduce travel time and congestion for passengers traveling to the airport and various parts of the city. This infrastructure project aims to increase connectivity and reduce traffic congestion in the national capital. The minister also said that India aims to become the world’s number one automobile manufacturing hub in the next 3 to 4 years.
The size of the automobile industry in India increased
Gadkari said that in the last nine years the size of the automobile industry in India has increased from Rs 4.5 lakh crore to Rs 12.5 lakh crore. The minister said that the automobile industry has provided jobs to 4.5 crore people of the country. Nitin Gadkari also told about the government’s strategy to gradually move away from the use of diesel and petrol.
Petrol-diesel free India is my dream: Gadkari
He said that all vehicles like tractors, buses and cars in Nagpur are running on bio-CNG. I have a dream that India should get rid of petrol and diesel. It is a difficult dream to achieve but not impossible. The BJP leader was given a traditional ‘Maharashtrian welcome’ upon his arrival at the Prague airport on October 1, where he was received by India’s Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Hemant Kotalwar. His visit to Prague is part of his official tour, which also includes participation in the ministerial session on road safety at the 27th World Road Congress.
