Railway Budget 2024: Express-mail will run like Vande Bharat, Railways will build 3 more economic corridors

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in its Union Budget 2024 speech that Indian Railways will develop three major Railway Economic Corridors. According to Sitharaman, these new corridors have been identified under the PM Gati Shakti initiative for multi-modal connectivity. The additional objective is to enable faster travel with semi-high speed trains. However, Vande Bharat Express trains are air-conditioned chair car services and are not suitable for long distance overnight journeys. Indian Railways is now considering starting Vande Bharat sleeper trains which will be better than Rajdhani Express trains.

AC coach will be added to Amrit Bharat Express

Recently, Indian Railways launched Amrit Bharat Express trains with a new premium push-pull technology for the common man. The non-AC Amrit Bharat Express has several passenger amenities for general unreserved passengers and Indian Railways is soon considering adding AC coaches to the train in the coming financial year.
