Principal Secretary to the Governor, Robert L Chaungthu, in a letter to the Chief Secretary, has said that the Governor has directed that the examination to be held on March 29, Good Friday, should be conducted on some other suitable day. Since Good Friday is an important festival of a particular religion. Regarding which the people of that community have drawn the attention of the Governor. Therefore this letter has been written from Raj Bhavan to the Chief Secretary.
The exam was to be held on March 25
According to the information, examinations for students of classes one to four and six to eight are being conducted in all the government and government-aided primary schools of the state. Actually this exam was earlier scheduled to be held on 25th March. Later this date was proposed to be extended to 30 March. Later another letter was issued and the examination was postponed to March 29. In this examination proposed on March 29, the examination of Mathematics and Environment/Social Science of different classes was going to be held.

International Human Rights Council also demanded
The International Human Rights Council has also written a letter to the Chief Minister regarding conducting the examination on the Good Friday holiday. In which Council General Secretary SK Lawrence said that the Additional Chief Secretary of the Education Department has ordered to cancel the holiday on Christian festival Good Friday in the government schools of Bihar and conduct the annual examination on that day. Christian teachers and employees working in these schools of Bihar are heartbroken by this order. Due to the festival of Holi, March 25 has been declared a holiday and in its place, the holiday declared on March 29 on the Christian community festival Good Friday has been cancelled. He has requested the Chief Minister to pay immediate attention to this matter and restore the canceled holiday of Good Friday, March 29.
