Chinese tech company Redmi has introduced Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones in the low-cost smartphone market. It comes in Sea Green, Aqua Blue and Classic Black color variants. To improve the performance, the Octocore MediaTek Helio G36 processor with clock speed up to 2.2GHz has been installed in both the phones.
Redmi has launched its entry-level smartphones, the A2 and A2+, in India starting at $5999 for the 5000mAh battery that supports 10W fast charging. Chinese tech company Redmi has introduced Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ smartphones in the low-cost smartphone market. It comes in Sea Green, Aqua Blue and Classic Black color variants. Both the A series phones were powered by MediaTek’s Helio G36 CPU.
Redmi A2 and A2+: Specifications
Display: The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2+ feature a 6.52-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 1600×720 pixels. The aspect ratio of the display is 20:9.
Hardware and software: To improve the performance, both the phones have been fitted with the Octo-core MediaTek Helio G36 processor with clock speed up to 2.2GHz. Both the phones come with up to 4GB of expandable LPDDR4X RAM, which can be coupled with 2GB of virtual RAM for a total of 6GB of RAM.
Camera: Both the phones include a dual camera setup for taking pictures. It comes with a 0.08 MP depth lens apart from an 8MP primary camera. There is also a 5MP front camera with a waterdrop design for selfies and video calls.
Battery and Charging: Both the phones come with a 5000mAh battery that enables 10W rapid charging for backup power. The phone includes a micro USB connector for charging.
Connectivity Options: For connectivity, the phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a micro USB port, Bluetooth, FM, Wi-Fi, 2G, 3G and 4G networks.
Redmi A2 and A2+: Price and availability
The firm has released three Redmi A2 models. The price of Rs 5,999 is the model with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant costs Rs 7,499, while the 2GB RAM + 64GB storage model costs Rs 6,499. While the Redmi A2+ is available in only one configuration with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, priced at Rs 8,499 (roughly US$119).
Both the smartphones are available for purchase on the company’s official website MI.com, official shop and e-commerce website. Buyers will get Rs 500 instant discount on ICICI Bank credit and debit cards.
