New Delhi : Royal Enfield, the maker of Shaan’s Bullet in India, has started preparing to bring two Dhansu motorcycles by the end of this year. Preparations are being made to launch the Himalayan 450 soon by the two-wheeler manufacturing company. Now the news is that it has trademarked Guerrilla 450. According to media reports, Royal Enfield will launch the all-new Bullet range in early September 2023 and the much-awaited Himalayan 450 will arrive in November. Now Royal Enfield has trademarked a new name for another upcoming motorcycle, which will carry the ‘Guerrilla 450’ moniker. While not much is known about the bike at the moment, it will almost certainly be a brand new part of the Himalayan family, which will be one of the most exciting two-wheelers of the year.

Guerrilla 450 will be based on Himalayan

According to a report in Car & Bike, the name Guerrilla alludes to the focused nature that the Himalayan model is all set to adopt. Just like the Scream 411 was on the original Himalayan. The Guerrilla 450 is based on the new Himalayan with more focus on off-road capability. Keeping with the theme of guerrilla tactics, the Himalayan sibling could be offered with revised styling in camo and stealth paint schemes, equipped with knobby tyres, wire-spoke wheels and updated suspension for better grip on rough terrain .

Himalayan 450 is based on new platform

As far as the Himalayan 450 is concerned, it is said to be based on a completely new platform and will be lighter than the original. It will be powered by an all-new 450cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with around 40 bhp of max power and 37 Nm of peak torque. Along with all-LED lighting, the new Himalayan will also feature a fully digital TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity, as well as an upside-down fork, which will be a first for a single-cylinder Royal Enfield. The bike is likely to get a six-speed transmission, possibly with slip and assist clutch; It will be a step ahead from the current Himalayan’s five-speed unit.

What is the company’s strategy

The Himalayan and the Guerrilla 450 could represent Royal Enfield’s two-pronged strategy to gain control of India’s mid-sized adventure motorcycle market, which has seen renewed interest following the launch of the new KTM 390 Adventure and the arrival of the Triumph Scrambler 400X. Has been The Chennai-based bike maker is also building up its pre-owned motorcycle division, which will be named ‘Rion’.

Himalayan Power Output & Engine

The power output hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is expected to make around 40-45 Bhp and 40 Nm of peak torque. The engine will be tuned for low and mid-end grunt, so that it revs without facing any strain on the engine. Moreover, the low-end grunt also helps while off-roading. The new engine is expected to come mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The current generation Himalayan draws power from its oil-cooled 411 cc, long-stroke engine that produces around 25 Bhp of power and 32 Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

Himalayan Design

The Himalayan 411 is known for its function rather than form design and it is believed that the Himalayan 450 will have something similar. The front gets a front guard along with a large windscreen. There is also an outer safe guard provided to protect the motorcycle to some extent in case of a fall. There is also ‘Royal Enfield’ badging on the safe guard and riders are expected to be able to fit a jerry can on it like the current Himalayan.

Suspension & Brakes

The suspension duties on the Himalayan 450 will be handled by upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. The braking setup will include disc brakes at both the ends. Switchable ABS is also expected to be on offer. It will feature a circular digital instrument cluster, which is expected to be a new unit.

Himalayan 450 Price

The new Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 motorcycle is expected to be priced much higher than the 411 model currently on sale. The current model costs Rs 2.16 lakh (ex-showroom). The new generation motorcycle is likely to be priced above Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
