Food Inspector Rajesh Vishwas, 32, was posted at Pakhanjoor in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh. One day Vishwas went for a picnic with a friend to the reservoir near Paralkot Dam, where he was trying to take a selfie, while his phone Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra fell into the dam. In such a situation, he went to the Irrigation Department for help. After this, two diesel pumps were hired to find the phone. The cost of each diesel pump was around Rs 7,500, which was used to pump out water from the dam.

According to reports, initially 21 lakh liters of water was pumped out of the dam. But when the investigation of the case came to know that about 41 lakh liters of water has been extracted from the dam. However, even after so much effort, the phone could not be traced. But in this case, due to personal use of government machinery and misuse of power, a notice was sent to Vishwas seeking an answer. Also, a fine of Rs 42,092 was imposed on Vishwas for drawing water from the dam. Along with this, an additional fine of Rs 10,000 has been imposed.

Other officers also got notice
Notice has also been issued to RC Dhiwar, the officer who directed to vacate the dam, as to how he was instructed to vacate the dam without the permission of senior officials.
