The home minister was asked whether the government is aware of the threats posed by cyber criminals using dark net, metaverse, deep fakes, ransomware and toolkit based disinformation for campaigns. In response, he said that the government recognizes cyber security threats. Several steps are being taken to deal with them. Giving information, the Union Minister said that cyber hackers are taking help of all vulnerabilities, remote access service and phishing to gain access to the infrastructure.
Apart from this, he said that the National Crime Records Bureau publishes statistical data on crimes in Crime in India, but NCRB does not have specific data in this regard. More than 39,200 police officers from States and Union Territories are registered and more than 19,550 certificates have been issued through the portal.
