Stock Market Closing Bell: A stormy rise was seen in the Indian stock market today. The greenishness in Sensex-Nifty during pre-opening continued till the market closed. Till the closing bell, the Sensex was at 74,724.34 with a rise of 0.64 percent or 476.12 points. Whereas, Nifty jumped 0.65 percent or 147.25 points and closed at 22,660.95. Today 4047 companies traded. In this, a rise was seen in the stocks of 1881 companies. Whereas, shares of 2031 companies closed in loss. No change was seen in the stocks of 135 companies.

How was the condition of Sensex-Nifty?

Amidst the market rally, stocks of eight companies on BSE’s 30-share Sensex remained in loss. Whereas, a rise was seen in the stocks of 22 companies. At the same time, except IT and PSU banks, there was a decline in all the sectors on Nifty. Apart from this, Auto closed with a rise of 457 points, Bank by 103 points, Consumer Durable by 283 points and Oil & Gas by 166 points. Today on Nifty, stocks of Eicher Motors, Maruti, Mahindra & Mahindra, SBI Life, JSW Steel and NTPC joined the category of top gainers. Whereas, shares of Adani Ports, Nestle India, Apollo Hospital, Wipro and Sun Pharma were included in the category of top losers.

Two records were made in the market today. One made by Sensex and Nifty. On the other hand, the market capitalization (BSE M-Cap) of the companies of Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) has crossed Rs 400 lakh crore. The exchange has achieved an all-time high in the new financial year. Earlier, the market capitalization of BSE-listed companies had reached Rs 300 lakh crore in July last year. Let us tell you that in the last one year, Sensex has seen a rise of about 25 percent.

As soon as the market opened today, Sensex and Nifty reached their respective record levels. BSE’s 30-share index Sensex jumped 307.22 points to hit a record high of 74,555.44 and NSE Nifty was up 79.6 points at 22,593.30. Nifty hit its all-time high of 22,623.90 points and BSE hit its all-time high of 74,658.95 points after early deals. In Asian markets, South Korea’s Kospi and Japan’s Nikkei 225 were in profit, while China’s Shanghai Composite and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng were in loss. American markets closed with a mainly positive trend on Friday.
