BNCAP 5 Star Safety Ratings: In order to save the lives of car passengers in India due to road accidents, indigenous Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP) has started car crash test from 15th December 2023. Now its results have also started emerging. Recently, two new cars of Tata Motors, Safari and Harrier, have been given 5 star safety rating by BNCAP. Apart from these two cars, five other cars have also joined the queue. These cars have also been given 5 star safety rating for the safety of the passengers. Come, let us know about those cars.
Tata Safari-Harrier
Tata Motors has recently launched the facelift variants of Safari and Harrier in the market. Both these cars have already been given 5 star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test. In India too, both these cars have been given 5 star safety rating in BNCAP car crash test. Both these facelift SUV cars have 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESE) and ISOFIX child seat anchors as standard as common safety. Apart from this, features like hill assist, 360-degree camera and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) are also available in them. The ex-showroom price of Tata Harrier in India is Rs 15.49 lakh. At the same time, the starting price of Tata Safari Facelift is Rs 16.19 lakh.
Volkswagen Virtus-Skoda Slavia
Along with Tata Safari and Harrier, Volkswagen Virtus and Skoda Slavia have also been given 5 star safety rating in BNCAP crash test. The starting price of Volkswagen Virtus in ex-showroom is Rs 11.48 lakh. Whereas, the starting price of Skoda Slavia is Rs 10.89 lakh. Both these cars are also counted among the safest cars of India. Both these cars have been given 5-star safety rating for both adult and child safety. Both these sedan cars are built on MQB AO platform. Talking about their standard safety features, they come with features like dual-front airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold assist, 3-point seatbelts and seatbelt reminder.
Volkswagen Taigun-Skoda Kushaq
Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq are also among the cars that have got 5 star safety rating in BNCAP crash test. Volkswagen Taigun is available at a starting price of Rs 11.62 lakh ex-showroom. Whereas, the starting price of Skoda Kushaq is Rs 10.89 lakh. Both these cars have already received 5 star rating for adult and child safety from Global NCAP. For safety, both of them have dual front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS with EBD and 3-point seatbelt features.
Hyundai Verna
Hyundai Verna is available at a starting price of Rs 10.90 lakh ex-showroom in India. This car has also received 5-star rating from BNCAP for child and adult safety. However, this car has already been given 5 star safety rating by Global NCAP. The safety features of this car include features like 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), ABS with EBD, 3 point seatbelt and blind spot alert.
