A number of features are coming to Meta’s text-based social media platform, Threads. One of these features is the facility to edit posts, which we can include in the voice notes feature. The platform is also working on features like trending topics. Let us tell you that Threads was introduced in July this year and it has been brought to compete with X.
According to a report by The Verge, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that threads will soon get the much-needed edit button. This means that users will be able to change their posts after they are posted. Till now, there was no edit option on threads. The edit button on Twitter also came only after Elon Musk acquired the company in October last year. However, this feature is available only to Blue subscribers.
Like Elon Musk’s X, there will be a time limit on the edit option on threads too. Users will be able to edit threads within 5 minutes of posting. After this they will not be able to make any changes in the post. Apart from this, Threads is also bringing the option for users to share voice notes on the platform. Users simply have to tap the new microphone button and record their voice. After this this note will be shared on the platform. Some users already have access to the edit button and voice notes and these features may be rolled out to more users soon.
Meta’s text-based social media platform, Threads, was launched in July this year and was aimed at giving tough competition to Twitter, now called X. The app received millions of downloads within 5 days of launch and allowed people who were already using Instagram to easily create Threads accounts.
