Tweetbots makers bring edit post feature to its Mastodon client

San Francisco. The developers of the now-defunct Tweetbot client Mastodon have brought an update to their application Ivory, which also includes an ‘edit post’ feature.

Other updates include the ability to report users and posts, and support for Mastodon’s server language translation services, reports The Verge.

After Twitter stopped supporting third-party applications last month and later announced new restrictions requiring developers to pay for access to Twitter’s application programming interface (API), Tapbots adds additional features to its new Mastodon client. Adding functionality.

Ivory is still in early access, but according to Tapbots, there’s more to come, including support for quote posts and custom example emoji.

Currently, Ivacy allows users to edit their profiles on Mastodon, suppress duplicate boosted posts, create content warnings, and accept requests from private accounts.

The report states that Ivory, like Tweetbot, is also a paid service, costing $1.99 per month or $14.99 per year.

Meanwhile, last month, Twitter quietly updated its ‘developer agreement’ to ban third-party clients nearly a week after blocking access to apps on its platform.

The new rules mention that users cannot use Twitter’s API or content to ‘attempt to create a substitute or similar service or product for the Twitter application’.(IANS)
