Unity and rich culture of tribals seen at Sarhul in Jamshedpur

Sarhul 2024: Jamshedpur: sarhul The festival is a symbol of the tradition, culture and prosperity of the tribals. On Thursday, on the occasion of Sarhul festival, people of the society came out of their colonies and villages, remembered their traditions and celebrated. The people of the tribal community brought their heritage alive through their traditional songs and dances. Under the leadership of Gangaram Tirkey, chief licensee of Central Sarhul Puja Committee, a procession was taken out from Sitaramdera Tribal Oraon Samaj Bhavan premises. A group of devotees from Birsanagar, Bagunhatu, Ulidih, Baghbeda and other places also participated in it.

During this journey, they wore their traditional clothes and danced to the sound of drums and drums. Sarhul procession passed through these places
Sarhul Shobha Yatra starts from Old Sitaramdera and again via Lako Bodra Chowk, Sitaramdera Police Station, Agrico Light Signal Chowk, Bhalubasa, Kumhar Pada, Ramlila Maidan, Sakchi Main Roundabout, Basant Cinema Road, Kalimati Road, Tuiladungari Roundabout, Golmuri to Sitaramdera Tribal Oraon Samaj Bhawan. After reaching the courtyard it turned into a meeting.

Worship took place in Sarna places
Before the procession, Sarhul Puja was performed at various Sarna places in the city on Thursday. In this, worship of Chala Ayo was done under the leadership of Budhu Bhumij in Sitaramdera, Mahavir Kujur in Birsanagar, Budhram Toppo in Bagbera, Gopal Topno in Ulidih, Laxman Minj in Shankosai and Anadi Oraon in Laxminagar. There was a long queue of devotees at Sarna places since 7 in the morning. Devotees sought blessings from Chala Ayo for the good health, progress and prosperity of their families. At Sarna Sthal, many people along with their families bowed their heads at the feet of the presiding deities.

Women put Sarai flowers in their buns
On the Sarhul festival, women not only continued the tradition of their community by tucking the Sarai flower into their bun, but they also expressed the specialty of their society. The fact that they put Sarai flower in their bun is a symbol of their prosperity and their cultural identity.
