According to media reports, the waiting period for delivery of petrol variant of RWD edition of Mahindra Thar is between 16 to 20 weeks. Whereas, if we talk about its diesel variant, the waiting period for its delivery has increased to 65 to 70 weeks. Apart from this, the waiting period for 4WD edition of Mahindra Thar has increased from 16 to 24 weeks.

The starting price of 4WD and RWD editions of Mahindra Thar in India ex-showroom is Rs 10.98 lakh. The off-roader is available in two trims AX (O) and LX. Available in Everest White (new), Blazing Bronze (new), Aquamarine, Red Rage, Napoli Black and Galaxy Grey.
Powertrain of Mahindra Thar 4WD and RWD
Mahindra Thar is equipped with three powertrain options 4WD and RWD. Its petrol variant has 2.0-litre turbo, diesel variant has 2.2-litre and 1.5-litre engine. The 2.2-litre diesel engine is capable of generating 130 bhp and 300 Nm torque. Whereas, the 1.5-litre oil burner is capable of generating 117 bhp and 300 Nm torque. Whereas, the petrol engine can generate 150 bhp and 320 Nm of torque. Transmission options include a six-speed manual and a torque converter unit.
Features in Mahindra Thar
The feature list of Mahindra Thar includes halogen headlamps with LED DRL, 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity), auto AC, cruise control, steering mounted controls and digital MID in the instrument cluster. Apart from this, it also has washable interior and removable roof panel. At the same time, in terms of safety of passengers, features like dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensor and front seatbelt reminder are available as standard.
