Dharamshala: Senior India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin on Tuesday said the 2012 series against England was the turning point in his career which helped him correct his mistakes. England won that series 2. 1 which was won by India in 1984. It was his first win in the series since 85. Ashwin said in the press conference before his 100th Test match, ‘The 2012 series against England was the turning point for me. It told me where I needed to improve.”
Ashwin will complete 100 Tests of his career through the fifth and last Test against England starting from March 7 here. He said about this, ‘This is a big opportunity. The journey has been more special than the destination. There has been no change in my preparation. We have to win the Test match.” When asked about the best performance of his career, he said, ‘Birmingham in 2018. ’19 was the best spell of my Test career.” Ashwin, who recently became the second Indian bowler after Anil Kumble to complete 500 Test wickets, made his Test debut in 2011.
