33 thousand students appeared in the entrance examination for admission in 80 excellent schools of Jharkhand.

Ranchi : Entrance examination was held on Friday for enrollment in 80 Chief Minister’s Excellent Schools of the state. 36230 students had submitted applications for enrollment on 8984 seats in schools. Out of these, about 33 thousand students appeared in the examination. The first merit list for nomination will be released on March 30. The enrollment of selected students will be done as per the merit list released from April 1 to 7, while classes will start from April 8. If the students selected for enrollment in the first merit list do not take enrollment, then the second list will be issued. Out of 80 schools, four schools have classes from class 1 to 12, 27 schools have classes from class 9 to 12, 48 schools have classes from class 6 to 12 and one school has classes from class 1 to 10. After the examination from all the districts, the report has been sent to Jharkhand Education Project. The examination was conducted peacefully across the state. A record number of applications were submitted for enrollment in the school this year. Last year approximately 20 thousand applications were submitted.

The state government has started the after care scheme. Its benefit will be available to those children who live in children’s homes (institutional care). Under this scheme, skill development training will be given to such children who have completed 18 years of age. Besides, other government assistance will be provided. So that they can join the mainstream and live a better life. For this, such children will be made skilled and financial assistance will also be provided to them. The District Child Protection Department has started the process regarding this. District Child Protection Officer Ved Prakash Tiwari said that under this, those children will be listed who have come out of institutional care or are about to complete their period in the near future. A survey will also be conducted in this regard. It will be linked to the skill development schemes being run by the Central and State Governments including Deendayal Upadhyay Rural Skill Development Scheme, Skill Development Mission, Jharkhand Livelihood Mission. Training will be given by Skill Development Mission. After training, benefits of other government schemes including financial assistance from banks will be given for employment. The organization will also be involved in this work. Let it be known that at present five children’s homes are running in the capital, where 150 children are living.
