Bokaro: Running a campaign against illegal Mahua liquor stand proved costly for the police team of Balidih police station. Liquor mafia carried out a deadly attack on the team. Inspector Dhaneshwar Mahato and constable Sukhdev, who were leading the raid team, were seriously injured in the attack. Both have been admitted to the local hospital for treatment. Two police vehicles have also been completely damaged in the attack.
Police arrested two attackers
The police sent the arrested Vikas Singh and Ganesh Singh to jail on Friday. In the case, the police have registered an FIR naming Bajrang Singh, Rahul Singh, Jitu Singh, Kishan Singh, Chhotu Singh, Bugwa Singh, Narayan Singh, Karu Singh, Sanjay Singh, Jaipal Ghatwar, Munibala Devi and Maniya Devi as accused. Inspector Sanjay Kumar said that information was received that in view of the Lok Sabha elections and Holi, illegal Mahua liquor is being prepared on a large scale at the hideout of Narayan Singh and Mathura Singh in Karharia village. On information, the police team reached Karhariya village at 12.30 pm on Thursday night. Along with recovering 300 kg of Java Mahua and 50 liters of prepared illicit liquor from the spot, two people were arrested. Meanwhile, a crowd of people involved in illegal liquor trade surrounded the police team and started pelting stones. Two members of the team were injured in this. Two vehicles were damaged. Somehow the police team came out of the spot after saving their lives. Raids are going on to arrest other accused involved in the attack.
Liquor recovered at Bengal border check point
Pindrajora. In view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, Pindrajora police station in-charge Ravindra Kumar inspected the check point adjacent to the Bengal border on Friday. During inspection, a young man was caught carrying two boxes of illicit liquor from Bengal. According to the information, a youth named Nirmal Mahato of Lakhiyatand police station area was bringing two boxes of liquor from Bengal towards Pindrajora with a bike (JH09J8019). Meanwhile, the police caught the young man. He was arrested with illegal liquor. The station in-charge said that the campaign will continue. Anyone selling or serving liquor in the hotel will not be allowed to leave under any circumstances.
