Chennai, 10 August (Hindustan Times). Indian men’s hockey team head coach Craig Fulton said his team got the victory by sticking to plans and executing them on the field after their 4-0 win over Pakistan in the Asian Champions Trophy on Wednesday night.

Performing in front of a home crowd at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Hockey Stadium, the Indian men’s hockey team produced a scintillating performance, dominating their opponents from the start and winning 4-0.

At the post-match press conference, Craig Fulton said, “We had a game plan and we stuck to it. The idea was to score quick goals and that’s what happened. We played structured hockey and it worked. Defended well and scored when it mattered most. It’s just about consistency. Some of our guys did really well in the match.”

Fulton revealed that Jugraj’s flick was something he asked her to do during practice sessions. He said, “We executed our plans. Always felt like we could score a lot of goals. It’s very good. When Jugraj Singh flicked in practice I told him that I wanted you to play the match.” If you play, you flick like this and he did the same.

Talking about the match, the Indian men’s hockey team performed brilliantly in this match and dominated their opponents from the very beginning. Captain Harmanpreet (15′, 23′) scored two goals for the Indian team, while Jugraj Singh (36′) and Akashdeep Singh (55′) scored one goal each.
