Ahmedabad: More than 4000 students from 220 schools participated in Adani Sportsline’s Little Giants Inter-School Championship. Loktej Sports, Business, Regional News

After tough matches across Gujarat, the Grand Finale of Little Giants Inter-School Championship organized by Adani Sportsline concluded in Ahmedabad today. School level tournaments of Cricket, Football, Kho-Kho and Kabaddi started on 15th July, which were organized in Rajkot, Surat, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. A large number of talented students participated in it and showed immense enthusiasm.

The final match of Kho-Kho and Kabaddi began at ONGC Colony, Ahmedabad. In the first Kabaddi competition for girls, James Genesis International School, Ahmedabad won the winner’s trophy while Devsya International School, Ahmedabad came second. In the boys’ event, the finalists competed with gusto and Urmi School, DLSS emerged as the champions while Vatsalya Dham School, Surat emerged as the runners-up. Attracting the best of talent from all corners of the state, the Little Giants Inter-School Championship was won by Surat’s Vatsalya Dham Secondary School in the Kho-Kho competition, while Zenith High School was the runner-up.

The Little Giants Inter-School Championship held its first cricket and football competition this year, with the final taking place on 30 July in Ahmedabad. Cricketers and footballers contributed their best to ensure a positive outcome. School children and parents were present to encourage the young players. The boys’ cricket competition was won by Shree Vidyanagar School, Ahmedabad and the runner-up was Devasya International School, Ahmedabad. In the girls’ competition, Shree Vidyanagar School of Ahmedabad was the winner and Devsya International School was the runner-up. Boys Football competition was won by Lalji Mehrotra Lions School, Ahmedabad and SGVP, Ahmedabad was the runner up.

Little Giants Inter-School Championship 2018 was inaugurated with only one game Kabaddi. In 2022, the game of Kho-Kho was introduced and now cricket and football have been added. The Grand Finale of the Championship was attended by Gujarat Giants Kabaddi Team Chief Coach Ram Mehar Singh and Assistant Coach V Sundaram; Anupam Goswami, CEO of Mashal Sports and League Commissioner of Pro Kabaddi League was also present in the special presence.

Anupam Goswami said, “We have seen the rapid growth of Kabaddi across India in the last decade. The Adani Sportsline team has taken it a step further by taking it to the roots, and will help bring out the best of talent from Gujarat. I am impressed not only with the tournament and its standards but also with the response from the schools. I am sure many kabaddi players from Gujarat will soon come to PKL.”
