Pune. South Africa’s legendary fast bowler Allan Donald has decided to step down as Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach after the team’s campaign in the ongoing 2023 Men’s ODI World Cup.
Donald was appointed to the role in July 2022 and his last match with the team will be against Australia in their final World Cup league match at the MCA Stadium on Saturday.
Alan Donald said he initially had no objection to a one-year extension, but decided to step down in order to spend more time with his family.
“I accepted the contract verbally during the World Cup. However, I did not sign any contract but I was ready to go back to Dhaka to sign the contract for one year extension. “I was excited to get it done and see how we can grow this fast bowling group even further.”
“I had time to think about it in the World Cup,” Donald was quoted as saying by ESPN Cricinfo. I thought 12 months seemed like a long time. The schedule looks very busy. “I better start thinking about my family.”
