Rayudu said, ‘When I made my debut in cricket, politics started in Hyderabad cricket. Shivlal Yadav harassed me to get his son Arjun Yadav entry in Team India. I was playing better than Arjun, because of which I was constantly harassed.
He said, ‘I was in the India A team in the year 2003-04. I had shown a bang on behalf of this team, but in the very next year Shivlal Yadav’s special people joined the selection committee. Haven’t spoken to me for a year despite performing well. During this, Shivlal’s brother harassed me and even abused me. No one used to talk to me and even if someone raised his voice for me, he was dropped from the team. Troubled by all this, I left Hyderabad and started playing from Andhra Pradesh.
Venkatesh Prasad was also targeted
Even after coming to Andhra Pradesh from Hyderabad, his difficulties did not subside. He had differences with the captain of the Andhra Pradesh team, Venkates Prasad, who later became the chief selector. Due to a dispute with Prasad, he again came back to Hyderabad.
After this, Rayudu and Prasad came into limelight in the year 2019 World Cup. Rayudu was the biggest contender to make a place in the team but Vijay Shankar was included in the team in his place. After this Rayudu tweeted against Prasad which went viral.
