Quito (Ecuador) | Marco Angulo and Joel Ordenez have been named in Ecuador’s squad for the friendly against Australia. FC Cincinnati midfielder Angulo and Club Brugge defender Audranez were due to travel to Australia on Tuesday afternoon as head coach Felix Sanchez tackled a series of late omissions in his squad.
A report in Xinhua said that Ener Valencia, Gonzalo Plata, Carlos Gruejo and Jose Hatadare were cut from Ecuador’s original 24-man friendly list due to injury.
Ecuador and Australia will meet in Sydney on March 24 and in Melbourne four days later.
The matches will be Ecuador’s first under Spanish manager Sanchez, who took charge of the team earlier this month following the ouster of Argentina’s Gustavo Alfaro in December.(IANS)
