San Francisco. Apple may announce an updated version of its iPad lineup this week, featuring a top-of-the-line silicon chip and other internal upgrades.
The iPad Air, iPad Mini, and the base model iPad are expected to be refreshed and the company is expected to make updates rather than make significant design changes, 9to5Mac reports.
According to the report, “Updates for the iPad Air and iPad Mini are indeed coming. This October refresh will update the tablet with the next generation Apple Silicon chip.
According to the report, the iPad Air and iPad Mini will be powered by M2 and A16 Bionic chips respectively.
The next generation iPad Pro is expected to feature an OLED display for the first time.
Apple refreshed the iPad Air (with the M1 chip) and the 10th-generation iPad last year.
“The new iPad Mini should feature the A16 Bionic chip, which will offer a slight improvement over the existing A15 Bionic chip,” the report said.
According to earlier reports, the new iPad Mini will have a new display controller to address the effects of the jelly scrolling issue.
The base model iPad was last updated a year ago. The 10th generation model brings a new thinner bezel design, new colors and a Touch ID side button.
It is currently powered by the A14 Bionic chip. The iPad Pro lineup will remain the same.
