A daughter of a laborer in Bhilwara has become the first international wrestler from Rajasthan by winning the gold medal in the Asian Wrestling Championship under-15 held in Aman City, Jordan. Ashwani Vishnoi, daughter of Mukesh Vishnoi, resident of Jawahar Nagar, International Bhilwara, participated in the Asian Wrestling Championship held in Aman, Jordan on behalf of Railways. Bhilwara’s daughter Ashwani Bishnoi represented India in the 62 kg weight category of the competition and won the gold medal in the U-15 Asian Wrestling Championship in the final match. Tournament for women wrestlers under 15 years of age will be held in Aman (Jordan) on July 13. Ashwani defeated Ye Chen of Chinese Taipei by points (4:0) in the weight category up to 62 kg in women’s freestyle wrestling. Ashwani Bishnoi defeated Ana Asmavaloka Pehlwan of Kyrgyzstan 8-0 in the quarter-finals and Japan’s Natsukhi Kumazawa 4-0 in the semi-finals.

The winning streak didn’t stop here as Bhilwara’s daughter again won the gold medal for the country by defeating Kyrgyzstan’s Ana Asmavaloka with a score of 4:0 in the final. On this victory, Ashwini said, I give the credit for this to my father Tejendra Gurjar, the director of the arena, and my coach Rajendra, they taught me the technique very well. My next target is as much as gold for India in the Olympic Games.
