An SLC official said that the Rangiri International Cricket Stadium in Dambulla may not be ready to host so many matches in such a short span of time. The weather in Hambantota is currently the best in Sri Lanka and the ACC is evaluating the readiness of the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium to host Asia Cup matches. ACC has a few more days to take a final decision. Colombo is to host the matches from September 9. The Sri Lankan Cricket Board also does not want to leave this event at the mercy of the weather.
India-Pakistan match has been affected by rain
The match between India and Pakistan was played at Pallekele Stadium on 2 September. But the match had to be canceled due to rain. Both the teams had to suffer the loss of one point each. After one innings was played, not a single ball could be played in the second innings due to rain. Playing first, India scored 266 runs in 48.5 overs. But Pakistan’s innings could not even start due to rain.
