Asia Cup: India-Pakistan match canceled due to rain

Pallekele. The India-Pakistan match in the Asia Cup has been called off due to rain. The Indian team had given Pakistan a target of 267 runs to win, but Pakistan’s innings could not start due to rain.
Earlier, India was in deep trouble after losing four of its top-order batsmen for just 66 runs, but Ishaan Kishan (82) and vice-captain Hardik Pandya (87) scored brilliant half-centuries to help Team India win their first Asia Cup match against Pakistan. I made a challenging score of 266 runs in 48.5 overs on Saturday.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat but India got off to a poor start against Pakistan’s accurate pace bowling. Left-arm fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled Rohit and star batsman Virat Kohli and broke India’s back. Rohit scored 11 and Virat scored four runs. Haris Rauf made things worse for India by dismissing Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer. Gill scored ten and Iyer scored 14 runs.
India lost their top four wickets for just 66 runs. In such a critical situation, Ishaan Kishan and Hardik took the lead. He started grooming the innings while playing carefully and hit the loose balls hard. Both added 138 runs for the fifth wicket to take India past 200. Both the batsmen were dismissed after reaching their century.
Kishan hit nine fours and two sixes in his 82 off 81 balls while Hardik hit seven fours and a six in his 87 off 90 balls. In the lower order, Ravindra Jadeja scored 14 and Jasprit Bumrah scored 16 to take India to a fightable score. Bumrah hit three fours in his innings. Bumrah was dismissed by Naseem Shah as the last batsman.
At one point it seemed that the Indian innings would not even reach 150 but Kishan and Hardik managed the innings. The rain-affected day, however, completely belonged to the Pakistan pacers, who troubled the Indian batsmen from start to finish. Shaheen Afridi took four for 35, Naseem Shah three for 36 and Haris Rauf three for 58.
