The pair defeated Kazakhstan’s Makhsut Tadjibullayev and Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva 21-5, 21-11 in just two straight games in the first match of the tie.
Indian shuttlers beat Kazakh players
PV Sindhu returning to court after exiting Indonesia and Thailand Masters last month beat Kazakh shuttler Kamila Smagulova 21-4, 21-12 in two straight games to give India an unassailable 3-0 lead in the tie. And HS Prannoy made India’s lead 2-0 by defeating Dmitry Panarin 21-9, 21-11 in the men’s singles match. While Indian shuttlers once again tasted victory in the men’s doubles, the pair of Krishna Prasad Garg and Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala defeated their opponents Khitmurat Kulmatov and Artur Niyazov by a margin of 21-10, 21-6.
Trisa and Gayatri won the match in women’s doubles
Country’s best-ranked women’s doubles pair of Trisa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand continued India’s pattern of dominance by defeating the Kazakh team of Nargiza Rakhmetullayeva and Ayesha Zumabek 21-5, 21-7. India won the tie 5-0 and made a clean sweep. India will next take on the United Arab Emirates, who host the tournament, on Wednesday and PV Sindhu and Co will take on Malaysia, their toughest challenge in the group, on Thursday.
