New Delhi. Asian Games medalist Jyoti Yaraji’s proposal to train in Teneriffe, Spain, before the Paris Olympics and the upcoming season, got approval from the government on Thursday. This 24 year old runner had won the silver medal in 100 meter hurdles in Hangzhou Asiad. According to the statement of the Mission Olympic Unit (MOC) of the Sports Ministry, she will leave for Spain for 45 days.
The government will bear their airfare, boarding, visa application fee, sports massage expenses, local transportation expenses and other expenses including allowances. The MOC also approved the proposal of Indian badminton players Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy to provide financial assistance to the ‘sparring’ pair for training before the Paris Olympics. The duo will train with Scotland’s Alexander Dunne and Adam Hall in Mumbai in June and then with Indonesia’s Ren Agung and Berry Agriyawan in Hyderabad in July. The government will bear the air travel and boarding expenses of these two pairs.
MOC also approved the proposal of Indian shooters Reza Dhillon and Rajeshwari Kumar to train abroad. Reza will train with her personal coach while Rajeshwari will train with coach David Kostelecki in Italy. The MOC also approved the proposal of para shooters Rahul Jakhar and Rubina Francis to participate in the upcoming WSPS World Cup in Changwan, South Korea.
