Asian Games 2023: India taught China a lesson for not getting visas for Indian Wushu players, took strict action

The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has taken strict action against the host country China. Actually, Wushu players were not given visas to participate in the Asian Games. After which IOA has also raised the issue that the Indian contingent was not shown properly in the opening ceremony.

According to sources, the IOA was considering boycotting the opening ceremony due to the Wushu issue, with the IOA writing to the OCA in this regard.

The Asian Games are currently being organized in Hangzhou, China. These games started from 23 September and will continue till 8 October. Wushu players from India were also going to participate in Hangzhou. But these three Wushu players Nyeman Wangsu, Onilu Tega and Mapung Lamgu were refused entry into China.

Let us tell you that all these Indian players are residents of Arunachal Pradesh. One of them got accreditation and two were waiting for the same. When the team left for China on Wednesday, they were not allowed to board the plane because there was no proper clearance for boarding.

In protest against this action of China, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur had canceled his visit to Beijing. He was going to China to encourage Indian players in the Asian Games.

On the other hand, OCA Ethics Committee Chairman Wei Jizhong later claimed that Indian athletes were given visas to enter China. He said, these Indian athletes have already received visas to enter China. China did not deny any visa.
