Asian Games: India won gold in women 25 meter pistol shooting

Hangzhou. Rhythm Sangwan, Manu Bhakar and Isha Singh performed brilliantly to win the gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team competition, while the team of Sift Kaur Samra, Aashi Chowksey and Manini Kaushik won the silver medal.
These were India’s sixth and seventh medals from the shooting range in three days of the competition.
India expects more on the fourth day. Indian shooters are in the race for medals in both the women’s 25m pistol and 50m rifle 3-position. Shotgun shooters are going through the second phase of their competitions in the men’s and women’s skeet events.
The women’s 25 meter pistol team made headlines on Wednesday morning. The team of Manu, Rhythm and Isha continued from where they left at the end of the first leg on Tuesday and made the nation proud with a good performance. The Indian players were already in the lead after perfect rounds in the rapid fire section on Tuesday.
They finished with a combined score of 1759, ahead of China, which had a score of 1756, and Korea, which won the bronze medal with a score of 1742.
At the end of the first day of precision shooting, the total score of the Indian players was 887 compared to 874 of the Chinese. On Wednesday, the Indian players scored 883, while the Chinese scored 882, giving a tough competition to the Indians.
In the end, the Indians had a big advantage on the first day of the two-day competition – especially in the opening series in which they scored 292 points, while the Chinese could only score 288 points.
Earlier, Sift, Aashi and Manini had won silver medals in the women’s 50m rifle 3-positions. The Indian team remained behind the Chinese team with a total of 1764 points.
The Indian team of Sift, Manini and Aashi scored a total of 1764 and finished behind the Chinese team of Han J, Xia S and Zhang Q, who had a total score of 1773.
