Asian Games: Indian badminton player PV Sindhu lost in the quarterfinals

Two-time Olympic medalist Indian badminton player PV Sindhu crashed out of the Asian Games with a straight-game defeat against China’s He Bingjiao in the women’s singles quarter-finals here on Thursday.
World number 15 Sindhu had to face defeat against world number five Bingjiao 16-21, 12-21 in 47 minutes.
Sindhu had won the bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics by defeating Bingjiao in straight games, but the Chinese player took revenge with a win on her own soil and snatched away the Indian player’s chance to improve the medal complexion of the last two Asian Games.
Sindhu had won bronze and silver medals at the 2014 Incheon and 2018 Jakarta Asian Games respectively. Both players started well in the first game but Bingjiao soon took a 9-5 lead. Sindhu was struggling with movement in the court.
Bingjiao made the Indian player run all over the court and then scored the points with a precise shot. The Chinese player won the first game in 23 minutes. Sindhu was seen struggling in the second game also. Bingjiao took a 5-1 lead. On Sindhu’s mistakes, the Chinese player scored many points with powerful smashes.
Although Sindhu made a comeback and made the score 8-9, Bingjiao took a lead of 12-8 with three consecutive points. After this the Chinese player had no problem in winning games and matches.
