Former Olympian Vishnu Saravanan slipped to second place in the men’s dinghy event while Neha Thakur finished third in the women’s individual dinghy event at the Asian Games here on Saturday. On Friday, Saravanan was running first in the 13-man competition. He was ranked fifth in the seventh race, which dropped him to second place. There will be five more races in the Olympic qualifying event.
Olympic quota will be available in three more events – sailing men’s kite, IQ foil and laser radial. Abad Ali finished fourth in two consecutive races in the men’s Windsurfer:RS:X event, leaving him in fourth place with four more races left. Ishwarya Ganesan finished the day in fourth place in the women’s windsurfer:rs:x event.
