Australia defeated Indian men hockey team 4-2

Perth. The Indian men’s hockey team lost 2-4 against Australia in its second match of the five-match Test series here. India has lagged behind 0-2 in the series. He had to face defeat by 1-5 in the first match.

Jeremy Hayward (6′, 34′), Jacob Anderson (42′) and Nathan Eframs (45′) scored for Australia, while Jugraj Singh (9′) and captain Harmanpreet Singh (30′) scored for India. -Scored a goal.

India started the match aggressively and completely challenged Australia’s defence. However, for the hosts, Jeremy Hayward (6′) converted the penalty corner and gave the team an early lead. At the same time, India missed many opportunities in the beginning.

India made a slight change in their strategy to focus on counter-attacks, which paid off as Jugraj Singh (9′) equalized the score with a brilliant penalty corner.

Shortly after, Abhishek had a golden opportunity to give India the lead as he placed himself in a strong position inside the D zone and all he had to do was beat the goalkeeper, but his powerful shot narrowly missed the target. The first quarter ended in a 1-1 draw.

During the second quarter, both teams maintained their offensive pace and continuously challenged each other’s defense. However, it was India who scored the second goal just before half time.

Captain Harmanpreet Singh (30′) performed remarkably by converting the penalty corner with precision and power to make the scoreline 2-1 in his team’s favour.

Australia stepped up their attack in the third quarter with the aim of regaining control of the game. Their efforts were successful as Jeremy Hayward (34′) scored his second goal of the match from a penalty corner.

After this, Jacob Anderson (42′) gave the hosts a 3-2 lead. Just before the end of the final quarter, Nathan Efraims (45′) increased Australia’s lead to 4–2.

India put full pressure on Australia to make a comeback and came close to the goal again and again. However, despite India’s continuous attacks, Australia’s defense remained strong and foiled every attempt of India.

India will face Australia in its third match of the tour on April 10.
