Bayer Leverkusen wins title in Bundesliga

Berlin. Bayer Leverkusen finally won the Bundesliga title by beating Werder Bremen 5-0 on Sunday, after Bayern Munich had dominated the league for 11 consecutive years.

Leverkusen won their first Bundesliga title with five rounds remaining, following an impressive victory over Werder Bremen at the conclusion of the round of 29.

According to the report of news agency Xinhua, Leverkusen dominated its side from the beginning of the match and continuously tried to put pressure on the opposing team.

Leverkusen’s efforts bore fruit when Victor Boniface converted a penalty in the 22nd minute. Again, Werder Bremen tried several times but the hosts continued to dominate. Leverkusen goalkeeper Lukas Hradecky made several brilliant saves.

Leverkusen once again started attacking in the second half and Granit Xhaka doubled the team’s lead in the 60th minute.

Florian Wirtz then took the team’s lead to 3-0 with a powerful shot in the 68th minute. Not only this, he scored a hat-trick in the 83rd and 90th minutes to ensure a historic victory for his team.

With this win, Leverkusen maintained its record of 43 matches unbeaten in the competitions. This is a remarkable achievement for the team, which includes a 29-match unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga this season. Also he has scored a record 79 points in his name.

Florian Wirtz said, “I still don’t realize what we have achieved.”

Jonas Hofmann said, “It’s incredible and can’t be described in words. I never even dreamed of it.”

Alonso’s side can win two more titles this season as the UEFA Europe League and the German Cup are still up for grabs.
