Amidst the WPL 2024, news is coming that BCCI has prepared a plan to start women’s red-ball cricket in the country by organizing a multi-day competition. If this happens then it can be a big achievement for Indian women’s cricket.
It is being told that this tournament is going to be held immediately after the current Women’s Premier League (WPL 2024), which will end on March 17.
A report in Cricbuzz said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India has decided to organize a multi-day women’s tournament. This will last for three days. The tournament will start from March 29 in Pune.
6 teams will participate in this tournament. The teams are divided on the basis of regions. Teams from East, West, North, South, Central and North East will participate in it. These teams will participate in a five-match series.
The tournament will begin with two quarter-finals to be held simultaneously on March 29, 30 and 31. After this stage the championship will progress to two semi-finals, which are expected to be held on 5, 6 and 7 April.
The finals of the tournament are scheduled for 9, 10 and 11 April. The report also states that the two directly seeded teams will qualify for the semi-finals. However, his name has not been revealed yet.
