National School Games: The ceremony was organized today in Chhapra, Bihar. In this, Bihar’s Art, Culture and Youth Department Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai was the chief guest. He formally inaugurated the Football Girls Under-17 Championship 2023 of the National School Games by lighting the lamp. This competition, which will run from 25 to 29 December, is being organized for the first time in Bihar. This competition has been organized at three places in Chapra. After the inauguration of the competition, the Minister addressed everyone. Congratulating the people present in it, Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai said that this competition is being organized in Chhapra, Marhaura, Bihar. This is a matter of great happiness and pride for Chapra and entire Bihar.

‘Job will be given directly without examination and interview’

The minister further said that I am also the minister in-charge here. That’s why I’m feeling especially happy. Bihar government is making every possible effort and cooperation for the development of sports and players in the state. Be it the arrangement of training and competition for players or the construction and modernization of infrastructure. It has been decided to build a state-of-the-art stadium very soon at the Marhaura ground where the competition is taking place. In future too, every effort will be made to organize national level competitions in small towns, sub-divisions and rural levels of Bihar. Preparations are going on for this also. The aim of the government is to take sports to every village. There is no dearth of talent in Bihar and they are making Bihar proud by winning medals at national and international level. To encourage the players of Bihar, it has been decided to directly appoint 81 players of Bihar, who have won medals at the national and international level, in government jobs without examination, without interview, under the Bring Medal, Get Job Scheme. Further, Jitendra Rai appealed to all the players including the players coming from outside and assured them that you all should rest assured and focus only on your game and better performance and bring glory to your region and state by winning. The rest of the responsibility of your facilities and arrangements will be fulfilled by the government in a better way.

Director General cum Chief Executive Officer of Bihar State Sports Authority, Ravindran Shankaran, while congratulating all the people present in his address, said that today sports in Bihar has started taking the form of a movement. Till now all the national competitions held in Bihar were held in Patna only. But, this time with the special efforts of Honorable Minister Jitendra Kumar Rai, the government decided that this competition will be organized outside Patna in Chapra. Because our aim is to take sports to every village and to take the village talent to national and international level. Today, with the cooperation and efforts of the government, players of Bihar are continuously performing better in various sports and winning medals. The captain of Bihar girls football team is present here today. Khushi Kumari is from nearby Siwan and it is a matter of more pride that Khushi Kumari is also the goalkeeper of the national team.

558 girls football players taking part

558 girl football players from 31 states, union territories and institutions of the country have come to Bihar to participate in this competition. A team of 18 players from every state and institute has come along with their coach and manager. All the state teams have been divided into 8 pools, among which first the league match will be played and then the knock out round will be played. The final match will be played on 29th. The first match of the competition is to be held between the teams of Bihar and Jharkhand. The biggest advantage of this match is that it is a matter of great pride for the state and the girls will benefit a lot from it.
