By evening, former minister and senior JDU leader Bima Bharti broke ties with Nitish Kumar’s party. He has resigned from the primary membership of the party.

The party high command has accepted Bima Bharti’s resignation from JDU. It is being told that Bima Bharti was in touch with RJD for the last several months. Recently, during the assembly session and floor test, Bima Bharti was accused of anti-party activities. During the investigation, a weapon was recovered from the car of her husband Awadhesh Mandal. Her husband and son were sent to jail on this charge.
Discussion of Bima Bharti joining RJD
After Bima Bharti’s resignation, there is talk in political circles that she may join RJD and may also contest Lok Sabha elections from Purnia. However, regarding Purnia Lok Sabha seat, it is believed that RJD will leave this seat for Congress. Recently, former MP Pappu Yadav has merged his party with Congress. Pappu Yadav has indicated to contest elections from Purnia Lok Sabha seat.
Who is Bima Bharti?
Bima Bharti is the MLA from Rupauli assembly of Purnia Lok Sabha constituency on JDU ticket. She became MLA for the first time in the year 2000. She stood as an independent candidate in this election. After this, he contested the 2005 assembly elections on RJD ticket, this time he had to face defeat. After this, she won the mid-term elections held in October 2005 and then joined JDU. Since then he has been a continuous MLA. She has also been a minister twice.
