Cuttack: It is often said that the game should be treated as a game, but there have been many cases in which the game is not just a game. Many times people take it as a war. Take a local cricket match at Mahisalanda in Cuttack district under Choudwar police station area. A young man was murdered here on Sunday afternoon after a dispute over no ball. The deceased has been identified as Lucky Raut (22) of Mahinda. Muna Raut, the accused in the stabbing, is absconding. Police said that a cricket match was going on between two under-18 cricket teams of Shankarpur and Berhampur in Mahisalanda. Meanwhile, a fight started between the audience. The controversy started when the umpire declared the ball on the ground as a no ball. This led to a heated argument between onlookers Lucky Raut and Jaga Raut. Jaga called her brother Muna Raut after the argument.

Enraged, Muna rushed to the spot and beat Lucky with the first bat. When Lucky fell to the ground, Muna stabbed him in the chest. Seriously injured Munna was taken to SCB Medical College and Hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and started the investigation. Tension escalated in the area after locals gheraoed the police team demanding immediate arrest of the accused. A case of murder has been registered in this regard.
