Bumrah’s six reduced England to 253, India took a lead of 143 runs.

Visakhapatnam (Uttam Hindu News): Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah bowled brilliantly and took six wickets for 45 runs on the second day of the second Test on Saturday and gave India a significant lead of 143 runs by bowling out England for 253 runs in the first innings.

While India’s first innings of 396 runs was named after Yashasvi Jaiswal’s double century, the second innings of the match was named after the lethal bowling of Jasprit Bumrah. He took six wickets and did not allow any English batsman to survive. Kuldeep also supported him well and took three wickets. Ashwin, Mukesh and Akshar disappointed. Everyone gave runs with an economy of at least 5.

Jack Crawley gave a good start for England, but after that no batsman could hold on. Most of them got starts, but like the Indian batsmen, they too could not convert it into big innings.

Crawley scored 76 runs in 78 balls with the help of 11 fours and two sixes. Captain Ben Stokes contributed 47 runs. Bumrah gave important success to India by bowling Stokes with an excellent ball. Bumrah also took the last wicket of England by trapping James Anderson LBW. Bumrah bowled out first Test centurion Ollie Pope and also took the wickets of Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, and Tom Hartley.

When captain Rohit Sharma needed a wicket, he put Bumrah on the front and Bumrah did not disappoint his captain. Chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav provided good support to Bumrah and took three wickets for 71 runs. Akshar Patel took the wicket of Zak Crawley for 24 runs. Experienced off-spinner Ashwin could not take any wicket giving 61 runs in 12 overs.
