In the women’s category, R Vaishali lost to China’s Zhongyi Tan while Russia’s Alexandra Goryachkina defeated Ukraine’s Anna Muzychuk. Koneru Humpy drew with Russia’s Katerina Lagno and Nurgul Salimova shared points with China’s Tingyi Lei. Along with Gujarati, Caruana, Nepomniachtchi and Gukesh are joint leaders with 1.5 points while Nakamura, Praggnananda, Abbasov and Alireza are joint fifth with half a point. Among women, Tan has taken the singles lead with her second consecutive win while Goryachkina is half a point behind her.
Salimova, Humpy and Lagno have one point each, making them joint third. Lei, Vaishali and Muzychuk are joint sixth with half a point. There are still 12 rounds to be played which will decide the challenger for the next World Championship match.
